Update: 3:15 pm For NIGMS, President’s FY16 budget proposal is $2.433 billion, an increase of $61.479 million from the FY15 amount.
Update: 2:05 pm President’s FY16 proposal calls for $31.314 billion for the NIH and $7.724 billion for the NSF.  NIH budget request would provide 10,000 new grants.

 

The Obama Administration is releasing its 2016 federal budget proposal this morning. Hopes are that the President’s proposal will contain some good news for the NIH and the American biomedical research community.

 

The ASCB’s public policy staff will be wading through documents and attending briefings all day to find out what all this means for biomedical researchers. The ASCB Post will continue to update with a special NIH budget update later today.
