The American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB) publishes two peer-reviewed scientific journals that support the advancement of cell biology research and life sciences education: Molecular Biology of the Cell (MBoC) and CBE—Life Sciences Education (LSE).
Molecular Biology of the Cell (MBoC)
Molecular Biology of the Cell (MBoC) is ASCB’s peer-reviewed research journal, publishing research across the broad field of cell biology, from biophysics and genetics to neuroscience. MBoC is committed to advancing cell biology through a rigorous and constructive peer-review process led by working scientists.
In addition to original research, MBoC publishes Special Issues focused on important and emerging areas of cell biology, as well as Features that explore ideas and issues in science and the scientific profession. Accepted manuscripts are made available rapidly through MBoC in Press.
ASCB members receive a free subscription to MBoC, and institutional subscriptions are also available.

CBE—Life Sciences Education (LSE)
CBE—Life Sciences Education (LSE) is a peer-reviewed journal of life science education research and evidence-based practice published by the ASCB in editorial partnership with the Genetics Society of America and partially funded by Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Online and completely free, LSE emphasizes teaching innovations and evidence of their effectiveness and is designed for educators at all levels and across all life science disciplines.
