2026 Cell Bio Travel Grant Applications
The application deadline is Monday, August 31, at 11:59 pm ET
The American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB) offers travel and childcare grants to help eligible scientists attend the annual Cell Bio meeting. These grants are designed to reduce financial barriers to participation and help members of the cell biology community take advantage of the scientific, networking, and professional development opportunities available at the meeting.
Notes:
1. Applicants may only receive one of the following travel grants.
2. If selected, recipients will need to provide confirmation that they are registered for the Cell Bio meeting.
Grants for all Cell Bio meeting attendees
Funded by ASCB and Member Donations
Eligibility: ASCB member
Grant amount: $500
Application requirements: CV or Biosketch (NIH format or similar), Cell Bio abstract submission, and answers to the following questions:
- Have you previously received an ASCB Cell Bio travel grant? If yes, please indicate the year(s) and briefly describe how attending the meeting benefited your research or career.
- Please describe the financial resources available to support your attendance at the Cell Bio meeting, including any confirmed or pending funding.
- How will attending the Cell Bio meeting advance your research, professional development, and career goals at this stage of your career?
- What unique perspectives, experiences, or approaches will you contribute to the ASCB community during the meeting?
Grants for international meeting attendees
Option 1: Funded by the European Molecular Biology Organization
Eligibility: Graduate students or postdocs residing in an EMBC Member State or Global Partner country.
Application requirements: CV, Cell Bio abstract submission, and answers to the following questions:
- Have you previously received an EMBO travel grant? If yes, please indicate the year(s) and briefly describe how attending the meeting benefited your research or career.
- Please describe the financial resources available to support your attendance at the Cell Bio meeting, including any confirmed or pending funding.
- How will attending the Cell Bio meeting advance your research, professional development, and career goals at this stage of your career?
- What unique perspectives, experiences, or approaches will you contribute to the ASCB and EMBO communities during the meeting?
Grant amount: Up to €1,350
Option 2: Funded by the International Federation for Cell Biology
Eligibility: ASCB Members who are graduate students or postdocs residing in non-U.S. countries not covered by EMBO.
Grant amount: $500
Application requirements: CV, Cell Bio abstract submission, and answers to the following questions.
- Have you previously received an ASCB Cell Bio travel grant? If yes, please indicate the year(s) and briefly describe how attending the meeting benefited your research or career.
- Please describe the financial resources available to support your attendance at the Cell Bio meeting, including any confirmed or pending funding.
- How will attending the Cell Bio meeting advance your research, professional development, and career goals at this stage of your career?
- What unique perspectives, experiences, or approaches will you contribute to the ASCB community during the meeting?
Eligibility: ASCB member
Application requirements: CV or Biosketch (NIH format or similar), Cell Bio abstract submission, and answers to the following questions:
1. Have you previously received an ASCB travel grant or Family Care Travel Grant?
If yes, please indicate the year(s) and briefly describe how attending the meeting benefited your research or career.
2. Please describe the financial resources available to support your attendance at the Cell Bio Meeting, including travel funding and any resources available for dependent care expenses. Please indicate whether any funding is confirmed or pending.
3. How will attending the Cell Bio Meeting advance your research, professional development, and career goals at this stage of your career?
4. What unique perspectives, experiences, or approaches will you contribute to the ASCB community during the meeting?
5. Please describe the dependent care support you require in order to attend the Cell Bio Meeting.
6. Please briefly describe the dependent care responsibilities that make this support necessary.
