Faculty Awards

Application Deadline: September 4, 2012

Award Overview:

Faculty Travel Awards are available to primarily undergraduate faculty members, with preference to those who are beginning their careers and/or those who demonstrate financial need. U.S. residency is not required. The award may be used to cover expenses for transportation (including air fare, train fare, personal or rental car, taxi fare, etc., or hotel expenses). To qualify for a travel award, an applicant must be an ASCB member or have recently submitted an application for ASCB membership. The maximum award is US $500. The ASCB Education Committee will select the award winners on the basis of scientific merit, professional development, and financial need.

Submit an Undergraduate Faculty Travel Award

Steps To Apply:

  1. Submit Abstract
    To qualify for consideration for an Undergraduate Faculty Travel Award, abstracts must be submitted to the Annual Meeting through the regular abstract submission process. Once you successfully complete your abstract submission, you will receive a confirmation email with your abstract control number. The number will need to be entered on this award application.
  2. Complete and Submit This Application
    Provide your contact information, answer questions about yourself, and enter your abstract control number (see Step 1). Each applicant must complete this application separately.

Deadline and Disposition Notification:
The application deadline is September 4, 2012. Please note that the ASCB will only be able to offer faculty travel awards in 2012 if it is successful in securing outside funding. Applicants will be notified via email in mid-October regarding the status of their application.
