WICB seeks images to celebrate its 50th anniversary

Are you a cell biologist and an aspiring artist? This might be your opportunity to show off some skills and win a prize! This year marks the 50th Anniversary for the Women in Cell Biology (WICB) committee within ASCB. WICB is an advocacy group for all ASCB members that sponsors career development programs, career achievement awards, childcare grants for meeting attendance, career advice columns, and web-based resources, including a list of outstanding women scientist speakers that helps promote gender equality and diversity in the field of cell biology.

WICB seeks help from the ASCB community to design an image that celebrates Women in Cell Biology. It will be used to promote the special WICB 50th Anniversary events at the 2021 Cell Bio virtual meeting. The person who creates the winning image will receive free registration to the annual meeting in December and bragging rights!

Information about the image design guidelines (including size, format, and where to upload) as well as a list of 50th Anniversary events can be found at the WICB webpage. On this webpage you will also find a link to the image gallery so you can check out the competition! You must be a current ASCB member to enter. The contest ends on July 10, 2021. All submissions must be uploaded by 5:00 pm EDT to be considered. The WICB 50th Anniversary planning committee will judge the entries, and the winning image will be announced on July 30.
