ASCB Advocates for Scientific Data Transparency and Policy Protections
For the last three weeks, the ASCB has been working closely with its community partners, including the Coalition for the Life Sciences, Research!America, and EducationCounsel, to stay up-to-date on federal policy changes that will effect our community.
Among the many concerns is the elimination of selective removal of data from federal websites, including scientific data at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. We have joined with more than 230 other organizations in sending a letter to the Republican and Democratic leaders of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate calling for a restoration of this information.
The ASCB has also joined with 50 of our colleague societies in signing a public letter praising the important work our members do and our commitment to fighting to protect your work.
