Interested in organizing a scientific, education, or career development session at the 2019 ASCB|EMBO Meeting in Washington, DC, this December?

Education & Professional Development Programs: Deadline May 15

ASCB members, committees, and outside organizations are invited to submit applications for sessions that focus on topics related to the scientific enterprise such as education, career development, international relations, science policy, communications, and/or diversity in the scientific workforce. Sessions will be spread out throughout the entirety of the meeting.

Proposals must include the session title, description, learning objectives, and proposed speakers. A task force will review applications on the basis of relevance, intended audience, and audience engagement. Committees offering programs supported by external grant funding will also need to submit an application.

Member-Organized Special Interest Subgroups: Deadline May 1

The call is now open for ASCB members to submit a proposed title, session description, and speakers. New this year, Special Interest Subgroup talks will be abstract based. All accepted sessions will include free abstract submissions for up to five speakers, and organizers will be able to review other potentially relevant submitted abstracts.

Focused Discussion Tables

Do you have a question, a theory, or advice on a specific topic that you want to share with your colleagues?

The 2019 ASCB|EMBO Meeting will have a call for topics for member-led focused discussion roundtables opening in September. Submitters will submit a discussion title or posed question, and a short description. Focused Discussion Tables will take place from 1:00-2:00 pm on Sunday, December 8 and Monday, December 9, in the Exhibit Hall.
