ASCB is delighted to announce that beginning in January 2020 it will be soliciting another round of applications for Public Engagement Grants. This opportunity for ASCB members interested in engaging with their community and gaining experience in public outreach has been made possible by Science Sandbox, an initiative of the Simons Foundation. The online application site will open in mid-January and close March 31.

ASCB will provide selected grantees with $10,000 to $35,000 to pay for materials, supplies, marketing, and salaries for outreach projects beginning in summer or fall of 2020 and ending in spring 2021 or earlier. Grantees will also be offered travel funds to attend conferences and one-on-one assistance with project evaluation from start to finish.

Interested applicants will be able to view examples of successful proposals and may participate in a webinar/Zoom call to discuss elements of a successful application package. Preliminary information is now available at www.ascb.org/grants-awards/ascb-public-engagement-grants.
