Vilma Jimenez Sabinina wins MBoC Paper of the Year

The Molecular Biology of the Cell (MBoC) Editorial Board named Vilma Jimenez Sabinina the winner of the 2022 MBoC Paper of the Year Award for your article “Three-dimensional superresolution fluorescence microscopy maps the variable molecular architecture of the nuclear pore complex.”

Jimenez Sabinina conducted the study at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg and currently works at Bayer in Wuppertal, Germany. Additional study authors included M. Julius Hossain, Jean-Karim Hériché, Philipp Hoess, Bianca Nijmeijer, Shyamal Mosalaganti, Moritz Kueblbeck, Andrea Callegari, Anna Szymborska, Martin Beck, Jonas Ries, and Jan Ellenberg, who was the PI. Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz was the Monitoring Editor.

Papers eligible for this recognition must be published between June of the previous calendar year through May of the current calendar year. The 2022 MBoC Paper of the Year was published online on August 12, 2021, and can be read here: https://doi.org/10.1091/mbc.E20-11-0728


Jimenez Sabinina received a check for $1,000, a plaque, and presented a talk during Cell Bio 2022.
