The Earl of Grantham has sent his regrets and the Dowager Countess only a dismissive sniff but the downstairs servants and cell biology researchers around the world are buzzing with anticipation as Celldance Studios (a.k.a. the ASCB Public Information Committee) released its “Downton Labby” movie poster in advance of the World Premiere at ASCB 2016 in San Francisco, December 6, of three very short “Tell Your Own Cell Story” videos.

The three ASCB member labs chosen to produce a “Tell Your Own Cell Story” video are currently on location or in the cutting room, working on the latest in a series of cell biology films that NIH Director Francis Collins has hailed as “microscopic blockbusters.” The three ASCB member labs chosen are those of Daniela Cimini, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University; Matthieu Piel, Institut Curie; and Roberto Weigert, National Cancer Institute, NIH.

The “Downton Labby” poster was designed by ASCB Production Coordinator Leeann Kirchner and written by ASCB science writers John Fleischman and Christina Szalinski. No English aristocrats were harmed in the making of this poster.
