Sign Up to Review and/or Moderate the Microsymposia Poster Teasers

Whether you are able to attend Cell Bio 2024, or not, you can still be involved!

Are you an early-career scientist, mid-career professional, postdoctoral researcher, or graduate student member of ASCB? Seize this incredible opportunity to elevate your career and contribute to Cell Bio 2024 by reviewing abstracts and moderating Microsymposia Poster Teaser sessions in San Diego. We are looking for reviewers and up to 30 moderators for these sessions.

What Are Microsymposia?

Microsymposia at Cell Bio 2024 showcase the most exciting and cutting-edge research, based on high scores from our reviewers. They are not limited to specific topics but highlight the best scientific contributions across various fields.

Key Tasks and Requirements:

  1. The Microsymposia reviewers participate in the scoring review online from August 30 to September 16*. You can contribute to the abstract review process from anywhere—attendance at Cell Bio 2024 is not required. Each reviewer will score approximately 10 to 40 abstracts depending on the topic(s) selected.
  2. The Microsymposia moderators (must also be a reviewer) organize the top 50 scoring abstracts into five daily sessions of 10 abstracts each. Moderators will collaborate from October 17 to October 24* to group abstracts effectively. During the meeting in San Diego, moderators run the session to keep them on schedule, and introduce each poster teaser presenter.

*Please be sure you are available to participate during the time periods above since we have tight deadlines.

How to Participate:

Fill out the form below to participate. Select a first and second preference topic (mandatory), with the option to select a third, and fourth preference as backup. Please click here and visit the “Abstract Topics” tab to view available topics, with their respective subtopics. These are new topics for 2024! The number of reviewers per topic is determined by the number of abstracts submitted.

Reviewers will also have the ability to indicate if they wish to also serve as a moderator of a Microsymposium session. You can just be a reviewer without being a moderator but those who are attending the Cell Bio 2024 meeting and wish to moderate will receive preference.

If you are selected as the reviewer for a topic, details will be sent prior to each step with instructions and more information.

Selection for this will be first-come, first-served.

ASCB Staff will contact you by August 8 to let you know if you are selected to serve on this task force.
