Need Assistance to Attend? Apply for an ASCB Meeting Grant

ASCB is committed to ensuring equitable access for all scientists in the cell biology community to participate and benefit from attending Cell Bio. With the generosity of our supporters, ASCB is able to provide grants to our members to make this possible. Check out the current grants and eligibility below:

Cell Bio Virtual 2021 Attendance Grants

These grants will be made available to members who fall under NIH's Interest in Diversity Notice and are underrepresented within the Society. Through its Innovative Programs to Enhance Research Training (IPERT) grant, ASCB can offer funding to ensure access to the meeting for undergraduate, graduate, postdoc, and junior faculty who identify as underrepresented minorities*, as well as junior faculty at primarily undergraduate institutions or faculty at minority serving institutions in the United States.

What Is Covered:

The grants will provide you with FREE registration and abstract fees (if applicable).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be an ASCB Member. You must apply or renew your ASCB membership before applying for this grant. (Membership will run through December 2022)
  • If you plan to submit an abstract and wish to be reimbursed for abstract fees, you must submit a poster abstract by October 12. (Not required if only reimbursing registration fees)

* The NIH has determined that the following racial and ethnic groups have been shown to be underrepresented: Blacks or African Americans, Hispanics or Latinos, American Indians or Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and other Pacific Islanders. AND Individuals with disabilities, who are defined as those with a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more life activities.

The Cell Bio Virtual 2021 Attendance Grants are generously supported by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences, NIH.

Application Deadline: November 26, 2021
