Critical Conversation: Navigating Appropriately

This webinar will provide strategies for engaging in difficult conversations (i.e. mentoring issues, lab member conflicts, career conversations, academic bullying/toxic behavior and systemic issues such as racism/sexism/homophobia, etc.,) and how to navigate these type of conversations appropriately.  The goal of the webinar is to help attendees talk about various topics with PIs, lab mates, colleagues, and peers.  Erika Shugart will give a brief presentation on general strategies and tips for having critical conversations especially when the stakes or emotions are high. This presentation will be followed by a panel (Lee Ligon and Fadie Coleman) who will discuss best practices.

We are asking that registrants send in scenarios that they have faced for the panel to address.  Scenarios can be sent to ascbinfo@ascb.org.  In the subject line write: Critical Conversation.  We will anonymously read your scenario during the webinar as the panel provides tips and strategies for how to navigate the conversation appropriately.
