Post a short YouTube video explaining your ARRA-funded research and share it with the ASCB’s YouTube channel PDF Print E-mail

Letters are great but everyone likes a movie! Why not make a short video telling the story behind your ARRA-funded grant. If you send your movie to the ASCB, we will post it on our You Tube channel devoted to ARRA.

What points should you make in your video?

    • Mention the name of your institution.
    • Explain, in easily understandable terms, your field of research and the potential benefits to future medical care.
    • If possible, include views of your lab and the people who work there.
    • Describe the ARRA grant you received, tell what the possible health implications are and explain why it was important that you received the grant.
      • Have you been able to hire new lab employees or retain staff you would otherwise have had to lay-off?
      • Did you purchase lab equipment from local suppliers?
    • If possible, outline the economic impact your grant will have on your local community.
    • For information on the overall economic impact of NIH funding in your state, go to http://www.ascb.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=273&Itemid=31
    •  Make your video personal and entertaining.
