The ASCB welcomes Working Press to cover the largest annual meeting of research cell biologists in the world. To preview the meeting for journalists, the ASCB’s Public Information Committee (PIC) will publish an embargoed press book, Cell Biology 2009, listing our “Novel & Newsworthy” Top Picks among the thousands of research papers and talks scheduled for presentation in San Diego. Each year, the PIC’s scientist-members “peer screen” more than 1,200 abstracts submitted for possible platform presentation and come up with our Top Picks. The “Novel & Newsworthy” abstracts selected by PIC are usually the top-breaking news stories at the meeting.
To get your embargoed print copy and/or a journalists-only URL for secure online access to Cell Biology 2009, sign up today for Working Press registration. You’re under no obligation to show up in San Diego. Come December, the onsite ASCB Newsroom can help you get your story, whether you’re in town or working from afar.
Stuck in your office? Cover breaking stories at the ASCB meeting from your desk. We can help set up interviews with scientific newsmakers at the meeting. Contact John Fleischman at jfleisch@ascb.org or (513) 706-0212. Got video conferencing? We can set you up. For details, contact Cathy Yarbrough at (858) 243-1814.
