Poster Presentation
Yes, you still have to register and pay for meeting registration separately. Submission of the abstract fee does not include registration for the 2012 Annual Meeting.
Abstracts will be available online at www.ascb.org/meetings three to four weeks before the meeting. The onsite viewing areas for previewing abstracts online are located outside the entrance to the Exhibit Hall. There will also be one ADA-compliant kiosk.
The poster sessions for early and late abstracts will be held in Exhibit Halls A, B, C Sunday-Tuesday.
All poster presenters will be notified on September 28, 2012, of their presentation date and time. Those who have submitted late abstracts will be notified on October 26, 2012.

The ASCB assigns all poster boards with the letter “B” followed by a three- to four-digit number that corresponds with the aisle number in the Exhibit Hall.

100=Aisle in which board is located

Posters and poster tubes are the responsibility of the author. The ASCB suggests that attendees keep their posters and poster tubes with them at all times to ensure they remain safe. Or you can leave the poster or poster tube at the Coat/Poster/Luggage Storage in the Registration Area.

The Annual Meeting Program will be available online at www.ascb.org/meetings approximately one month before the meeting. The Annual Meeting Program will also be available for pick-up along with your meeting badge and lanyard in the Registration Area at the Moscone Center.
No, there is no Abstract CD-ROM. Abstracts may be accessed online at www.ascb.org/meetings three to four weeks before the meeting.
No, you must pick up your badge onsite at the Moscone Center. All registrants will receive an email one week before the meeting. Print and bring this email with you. It will contain a bar code for you to scan to print your badge. If for any reason you do not receive an email with the barcode before the meeting, or you misplace it, you can bring your registration confirmation or lookup your registration on site. A photo ID must be presented to pick up your badge.
You will be able to obtain a replacement badge onsite for a fee of $15 at the Badge Replacement counter during registration hours. If you lose the second badge and need a third, you will need to re-register for the meeting and pay the onsite registration fee. A photo ID is necessary in both cases.

No, meeting registration is nontransferable.
Cancellation Policy: Meeting registration is nontransferable. Meeting registration is nonrefundable after November 26, 2012. The ASCB will honor requests for refunds if they are in writing and are received by the ASCB no later than November 26, 2012. Note: Cancellations are subject to a processing fee of $20 for students and $40 for all others. No refunds will be issued for requests received after November 26, 2012.
The ASCB does not sell guest badges. A guest is a nonscientist family member or nonscientist friend of a registered scientist. If a registered scientist would like a family member or friend to see his/her invited talk or their poster presentation, the registered scientist must contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. To request a guest badge onsite, please go to the ASCB Meeting Management Office in Room 200. The guest badge will only be valid for the date and time selected.
Guests are welcome to explore the Moscone Center, but cannot enter meeting rooms or the Exhibit Hall without a meeting badge.
Onsite Resources
Exhibit hours are: Sunday-Tuesday, December 16-18, from 9:30 am-5:00 pm. Exhibits and posters will not be open on Wednesday, December 19.
The location of specific exhibits is included in the 2012 Annual Meeting Program. There are also four Exhibit Locator Maps inside the Exhibit Hall.
You may leave a message for your colleague on one of the message boards in the Message Center located near the Registration Area in the Moscone Center.
You can print your own Certificate of Attendance at the "Certificate of Attendance" Counter in the Registration Area of the Moscone Center.
An official receipt can be printed from the registration site, or you can go to the Membership/Attendee Services counter in the Registration Area of the Moscone Center.
You may pay your 2013 dues at the Attendee/Membership Services counter in the Registration Area at the Moscone Center.
The ASCB does not offer CMEs for its meeting.
Meeting attendees who bring their own laptops can access free wireless Internet in the Convention Center. The laptop must have a wireless 802.11 b/g network card, and the SSID must be set to ASCB2012. Individuals without a laptop can check email at the complimentary Internet Café in the Registration Area.
The Message Center is located in the Registration Area of the Moscone Center.
The Speaker Lounge is located in Room 300. All Subgroup, Keynote, Frontier Talks, Symposia, Minisymposia, Translational, and Workshop speakers as well as Exhibitor Showcase speakers are strongly encouraged to visit the Speaker Lounge to check their presentation and take care of any issues that may arise before their talk.

Lost and Found is located in the ASCB Meeting Management Office, Room 200.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian during exhibit hours. Parents or guardians may bring children under the age of 17 to educational events provided the children do not disrupt the event. Badges will not be issued to children under the age of 17. Under no circumstances are children under the age of 17 allowed in the Exhibit Hall during set-up and dismantle times.
An Infant Lounge is located in Room 203 of the Moscone Center. The room will be equipped with a table and chairs, a bathroom, electricity, and a water cooler. The private lounge, available for nursing mothers and parents with infants, provides a comfortable and secure environment. Parents and guardians are responsible for providing infant care supplies. The infant lounge is unsupervised, and the ASCB is not responsible for any accidents or injuries that may occur.
Onsite childcare services may be available through your hotel concierge. Individual or group sitters may be arranged to provide in-room hotel childcare. Please check with your hotel well in advance of your arrival date. The ASCB does not screen any of the childcare services and assumes no responsibility with respect to these services and accepts no liabilities.
Boarding passes may be printed in the Business Center of your hotel or onsite at the Internet Café at the Moscone Center.
The Society does not provide shuttle buses; however, all hotels are within a seven-block radius of the Convention Center. Attendees must make their own transportation arrangements to and from the Annual Meeting.

Yes. If you have a disability or a special need that may affect your participation in the Annual Meeting, please check the appropriate box when registering. ASCB staff will contact you before the Annual Meeting to discuss your requirements. The ASCB cannot ensure the availability of appropriate accommodations without prior notification of need. The Moscone Center has two onsite Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) located in the North and South Lower Lobbies.
The Business Center is located in the South Lower Lobby. Services include photocopying, office supplies, faxing, computer work stations, printing services, email receipt, and UPS services. Shipping is provided through UPS. Office supplies and souvenirs are also available for purchase.
