Airport (SAN)

The San Diego International Airport (SAN) is located just ten minutes from downtown San Diego. The airport is serviced by 22 major and commuter airlines including nonstop flights from Japan and the UK. San Diego International Airport is managed by the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. The airport operates nearly 500 daily flights providing nonstop and connecting services to major domestic and international destinations. There are more than 50 nonstop markets in the US and abroad. Delta–2%-5% depending on the ticket cost

Reservations and ticketing are available via www.delta.com or by calling Delta Meeting Network Reservations at 800-328-1111. Please note that a Direct Ticketing Charge of $25 will apply for booking by phone and $35 if booked at a ticketing office. When booking online, select Meeting Event Code and enter your Meeting ID NMKXF in the box provided on the Search Flight page for domestic and Meeting ID NMKXK for international travel

United–2%–5% depending on the ticket cost

Airport Shuttle Discount- SuperShuttle

If you are trying to find your shuttle while you are at the airport, look for the “Shuttle for Hire Island” or the “Shuttle Loading Island” and ask the transportation coordinator for a SuperShuttle van.

Shuttles & Taxi Services

San Diego shuttles and taxi services are a convenient way to navigate the city and are ideal for airport pick-ups and drop-offs, as well as going to and from the convention center. There are also local shuttle companies that offer sightseeing tours, daily excursions, and transportation for private parties. Shuttle and taxi service from the airport is available at the transportation plazas across from the San Diego Airport Terminals 1 and 2, and curbside from the Commuter Terminal.

SuperShuttle will offer pick up from the Convention Center on Tuesday, December 15, and Wednesday, December 16. Tickets can be purchased in advance ($1 discount each way) or onsite in the registration area of the San Diego Convention Center.

San Diego Car Rentals

Exploring San Diego by car is the most convenient way of getting around to all corners of the region. The freeway system is easy to navigate and the traffic is manageable other than typical work-day rush hour. If you’re looking to rent a car while in San Diego, the centrally-located airport is served by all major car rental agencies, and reservation boards with courtesy phones are located near the baggage claim areas of Terminals 1 and 2. Shuttles regularly circle in and out of the airport to car rental outposts spotted near and around the airport, many of them on Harbor Drive and near the Commuter Terminal. And many of the car rental companies also provide convenient pick-up services at many of the San Diego hotels. Just be sure to make reservations and arrangements ahead of time, or ask for help from the hotel concierge services when you check into your hotel.

San Diego Public Transportation

San Diego offers many modes of public transportation providing travelers with economical and eco-friendly options to explore the region. From the trolley, the coaster trains and buses, to pedicabs and carriages that can take you around downtown, taking San Diego’s public transportation can be a fun experience in and of itself.

Coronado Ferry and San Diego Water Taxi

The coastal location of San Diego makes for exploring the region by waterways a fun and refreshing change. There is a ferry and water taxi that take you from San Diego Harbor, to surrounding areas like Coronado, Harbor Island and Shelter Island.

Parking at the San Diego Convention Center

On-site private vehicle parking is available at the San Diego Convention Center’s 1,950-vehicle underground garage located below the building. Enter the parking garage on Harbor Drive between First Ave. and Fifth Ave.

  • The daily rate is $15. Parking rates may range from $15 to $25 on days when there is special event activity at PETCO Park or other downtown events.
  • Payment is due upon entry and there are no in and out privileges.
  • We have 31 ADA compliant parking stalls with elevator access to the convention center.
  • No overnight or RV parking is permitted.

Parking in Downtown San Diego (Gaslamp District)

Directly across the street from the center, on the corner of Harbor and 8th Ave., is a 2,000 space parking structure.

Off-site parking is available at numerous nearby parking lots and garages in downtown San Diego, many are within walking distance of the center. Lots and garages are individually owned and operated, prices vary by location.

Metered street parking is available in some areas. Parking meters are enforced Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., unless otherwise posted. Metered spots are free on Sunday and designated holidays. Meters accept nickels, dimes, quarters, and prepaid electronic debit cards.
